Vernon Gooden, a Dallas native, is a dancer, choreographer, and teacher. He is a 2001 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School For The Performing and Visual Arts, where he was named 2001 Presidential Scholar In the Arts by the White House Commission. Mr. Gooden later studied at The Juilliard School under the direction of Benjamin Harkarvy and Larry Rhodes. He has performed with noted companies such as Paul Taylor 2, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Cleo Parker Dance Ensemble And Helanius Wilkins/ Edgeworks Dance. He has performed works by choreographers such as Paul Taylor, Linda James, Nai-Ni Chen, Jose Limon, Milton Myers, Christopher Huggins, Roger C. Jeffery, Bill T. Jones, Jessica Lang, Ron K. Brown, Cleo Parker Robinson, Adam Hougland, Katherine Dunham, and Kevin Iega Jeff. He is truly grateful and humbled to be in a reawakening of his Gift and is infinitely driven to a bolder and stronger Artistry.
